VOLTA announced the European premiere of the Earthling E-40 electric hybrid catamaran at Barcelona's Salón Náutico, occurring October 8–12, 2025 at Mooring A-331.
The vessel features a 12-metre design with a 44 kWh lithium battery, twin 50 kW electric motors paired with diesel generators, and 40+ nautical mile range on battery power alone. Cruising speed reaches 10 knots, with maximum capability of 18 knots. Designer John McGettigan personally sailed the E-40 from Genoa to Barcelona.
Visitors can board the vessel for tours, with sea trials available for serious buyers. The catamaran targets day charter tourism and incorporates an E-THOS smart control system alongside a 2 kW solar panel array.
