E-40 Power Catamaran
€495,000

Overview
The Earthling E40 is a proven, fully operational 12-metre electric-hybrid power catamaran, now available for sale after extensive real-world cruising and sea trials.
The E40 is like “sailing without sails”, built for quiet passages, easy marina handling and practical hybrid range. Twin 50 kW electric drives, a refined Stealth-lineage platform of around 3.5–3.6 tonnes and automated energy management make 10–12-knot cruising feel unhurried.
Compact DC generator-chargers support extended passages without depleting the battery bank, while the rooftop solar array continuously replenishes charge in sunlight.
The E40 will be available for private viewings and sea trials at Port Camargue throughout September 2026.
What sets it apart
Designed around efficiency, resilience and simple operation, the E40 combines quiet electric propulsion with the flexibility of hybrid range extension for longer passages.
Easy Pace, Easy Control
Efficient twin hulls and large, slow-turning propellers provide smooth acceleration, precise manoeuvring in marinas and relaxed cruising at passage speeds.
One Screen, Total Oversight
Earthling’s E-THOS system brings propulsion, battery storage, charging, solar generation and onboard energy use together in a single helm interface, making it easier to understand and manage the boat’s energy systems.
Hybrid When It Helps
Two 8.5 kW DC generator-chargers provide additional range when required, allowing longer itineraries without relying solely on the battery bank while keeping fuel use and noise to a minimum.
Light, Strong, Efficient
Based on Alan Carwardine’s Stealth 36 powercat hull form, the E40’s slender hulls minimise drag and allow efficient cruising at 10–12 knots with relatively modest power, applying the same efficiency principles that make sailing catamarans so effective.
Proven in the real world
The E40 has been built, commissioned and extensively operated at sea, including long-distance Mediterranean cruising, and independently sea-trialled by specialist marine media.
SEE THE E40 IN FRANCE THIS SEPTEMBER
The E40 will be based at Port Camargue throughout September and available for private viewings and sea trials with Earthling founder John McGettigan.

Sustainability
Electric propulsion handles quiet, efficient cruising, while solar generation supports onboard energy needs and compact range extenders provide additional autonomy when required. The result is a practical approach to reducing fuel use, noise and emissions without compromising passage-making capability.
