Comfortable electric houseboats for extended stays on the water with all the amenities of home.
An electric houseboat is a low-speed cruising platform designed primarily for living aboard, with electric propulsion handling the modest distances between mooring points. The design priorities are inverted versus a sport boat: interior volume, headroom, galley capacity, and shore-power management matter far more than top speed or planing performance.
Most electric houseboats cruise at 4 to 6 knots and are sized for inland waterways: French canals, Dutch and German rivers, Scandinavian lakes, Italian lagoons. Solar tops up house loads (refrigeration, water-pumps, lighting) and contributes modest propulsion energy. Owners commonly run shore power 4 to 6 nights a week and rely on the battery only for between-mooring transits.
