About Environment Agency
Nine mains points beside locks on the non-tidal Thames, provided by the Environment Agency so electric launches can recharge overnight. The Thames has carried electric boats longer than any other river in Europe, and these points are why a launch can still cross it end to end.
How you use it
A 230 V 16 A blue round three-pin socket at the lock island. Pre-paid tickets from the lock keeper, requested before four in the afternoon on the day, with the mooring fee included in the price.
What to know
The Agency publishes no list of these points. The list that exists is kept by the Electric Boat Association, and that is where these places come from.
