An open-air laboratory for sustainable marine propulsion
OVERVIEW
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is an international competition for sustainable marine propulsion, hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco at Port Hercule. University teams and industry entrants run electric, solar, hydrogen and hybrid craft across its classes, alongside a technical conference programme and an exhibition of alternative propulsion systems. The 2027 edition runs from 29 June to 3 July, with the World Final on 1 to 3 July.

Monaco-Monte-Carlo station is about seven minutes on foot; take the Sainte-Dévote exit for the most direct route. Regional bus 600 connects Menton and Nice with Monaco. Once there, the Yacht Club, village and paddocks are all walkable.
Nearest airport
Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE), 30 km and about 35 minutes by road. Monaco Heliport is 1 km away.
Hotels & accommodation
Book early, as Monaco fills up during major events. Hotel Port Palace overlooks Port Hercule; Novotel Monte-Carlo and Fairmont Monte Carlo are close by. Cap d'Ail, Beausoleil and Nice are cheaper and well connected by train or bus.
